Well here it is FINALLY, Hull #2 (Kinda' has that "Donzi look" wouldn't you say?) finished and ready for the engine and radio. 

I decided to paint the hull white and then use vinyl for the graphics.  I didn't take the easy way out and use a computer to cut out my graphics, instead I cut everything by hand. Let me take you thru that process.

Here I'm giving the hull a final wet sand before the final coat of white paint. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

After the hull received it's final coat of white I of course let it dry,  and then applied the vinyl graphics.  I first layed out my pattern on paper then cut it out on vinyl and carefully applied it.  Black automotive pin striping tape boardes the red to white transition.  The top windsheid section was made from foam sheeted with 1/16th balsa wood then coverd with Monocoat. 

Each checker square was cut out then applied to the hull. I had pencil maked where each piece was to fit prior to applying them.
 
 
 
 

Here I'm applying 1/16th pin stripping tape along the edges of the checker board pattern. It really makes the lines "crisp" and of course hides any imperfections.
 
 
 
 
 
 

And here she is all bright and shinny.....for now. 

I'm learning so much with each hull and have really enjoyed sharing my experences with everyone who has e-mailed me. There sure are alot of guys out there building their own hulls, go for guys!! it's a blast and VERY rewarding when it's complete!
